ESL for Employment program has been designed for those non-English speaking individuals who would like to enhance their English communication for effective workplace relationship. |

Entry Requirements |
Entry to the course contained in the ESL Framework is not restricted on the basis of age, gender, social or educational background. The Employment stream provide a clear pathway for participants to develop English language and literacy skills and knowledge to gain entry and participate effectively in the Australian workplace and employment
Its focus includes skilled and experienced workers, those wishing to set up their own business, as well as new job seekers and the unemployed. |

Delivery Mode |
The teaching practice module will be delivered through a combination of workshops, lesson observation, lesson delivery and on-line learning for enhancement. |

Duration and Time Table |
| This program is designed to be delivered over 10 days as follows: |

Days 1&2 Basic English |

Use basic greetings and make introductions |

Follow basic, everyday verbal instructions or commands |

Respond to a basic, short request or inquiry |
 |
Fill out a simple form requiring basic personal information |
 |
Identify familiar words in a short, simple oral text in a familiar context |

Read a short, simplified written text |
 |
Complete a short guided text with personal information |
 |
Describe a visual work |

Days 3-10 English for Employment |

Demonstrate understanding in casual conversation in a workplace context |

Participate in a casual and formal conversation in a workplace context |

Read a note or message in a workplace context |

Write a note or message in a workplace context |

Demonstrate understanding in a formal interaction with one or more people |

Read and write a formal letter in a workplace context |

Follow spoken instructions or directions in a workplace context |
